UPDATE

This isn't a review of a review or even a review at all.  Just an update.  Still here I guess.

of Montreal - False Priest (Pitchfork review) [review by Kevin Barnes]

This is my review of Kevin Barnes' review of Pitchfork's review of of Montreal's False Priest.

vs.

Background:  Read Kevin Barnes' review for the background;  he summed it up quite well.

So... Pitchfork.  Well I respect what they do to a certain extent (being a fellow reviewer myself), but I completely agree with Kevin's review of their review.  I also like to see fellow review reviewers reviewing reviews, especially if the reviews they are reviewing are reviewing them!  Woah.
Anyway, I liked how Barnes set up his review.  It gave us, the readers/reviewers, an idea of where he was coming from and his feelings on the issue.  I also really liked how he incorporated the Pitchfork review into his and added his own comments in a bold font.  It really keeps you in the moment and inside the head of Kevin Barnes (kinda).  It's very easy to follow, and he finishes the whole thing off by summing up his opinion.  A classic and highly effective approach to review writing.  He also added some sarcasm (which I thoroughly enjoy) with his closing statement: "well, there’s one thing i can always count on, a fair and balanced pitchfork review."  This statement was accompanied by a picture of Bristol Palin.
Now, to sum up my review, I completely agree with Kevin Barnes' review and his writing style was very appropriate for the situation.
But still, if he could just write a good album for once he'd stop letting all his fans down.  Does anyone know what art is anymore?
(Not accompanied with the least bit of sarcasm.  Right?)

I give his review: 5 stars

Operation Ivy - Energy [review by Blog Critics]

This is my review of Matt Wright's review of Energy (from Blog Critics.org).
His review can be read here: http://bit.ly/31cuck

I thought this was a pretty good review.  It wasn't amazingly well written and didn't have tons of imagery and filler words, but it got to the point and reviewed the album.  With more practice he'll get better at reviews (I'm not saying I'm an amazing reviewer either).  He pointed out good songs on the album and mentioned their BIG influence on the ska-punk genre.  It'd also be nice if he gave a rating or something for the people who want to know his opinion, but are too lazy to read.
Great album. Go listen to it.

Green Day - Dookie [review by Sputnik Music]

This is my review of Sputnik Music's review of Dookie.
Their review can be read here: http://bit.ly/9nCO5e

I thought this review was well written and overall enjoyable.  I like how they have their rating for it at the top, as well as a chart of user ratings for the album on the side.  In their review, they pointed out the highs and lows of the album (mostly highs) and discussed it's popularity/cultural significance.
Being a long time Green Day fan, I was pleased to see that they gave it an "excellent" (4/5).  Back in middle/high school, this album was on repeat for me.  On the contrary, I'll probably only read this review once; But I might remember that I liked it.  Give it a reading and give Dookie a listening. (Assuming you haven't heard it yet. Where were you the past decade?)

Beach House - Teen Dream [review by Pitchfork]

This is my review of Pitchfork's review of Teen Dream.
Their review can be read here: http://bit.ly/62wZUW

I surprisingly finished reading this whole review (it was, like usual, on the long side).  It kept my attention and they described this album very well.  I'm glad they gave it such a high rating and also branded it with "best new music."  I don't always agree with Pitchfork and their reviews, but I thought this was pretty good.  This was one of the few albums I wanted to go out and buy right after listening to it, and you should give it a listen if you haven't yet done so.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare [review by V.E.S.]

My review of V__ E. S__'s Amazon customer review of Call of Duty 4.

They gave this game 1 star out of 5. Their review was only two sentences long. They did not enjoy CoD. Is this review a joke? I hope.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell [review by Pitchfork]

My review of Pitchfork's review of Fever To Tell.
Their review can be read here: http://bit.ly/bS01Ao

I've had this album for a while now but never listened to it.  If this case applies to you, I suggest you go listen to it now.  It's an awesome lo-fi indie garage rock sound and Karen O has some high energy vocals.  Pitchfork reviewed it and gave it a 7.4.  My comments on their review: TL;DR.

I give this review: 2.7 stars

Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album) [review by allmusic]

This is my review of allmusic's review of Weezer (Blue Album).
allmusic's review can be read here: http://bit.ly/bx0Pdw

I thought this was a good review of the album and I agree with the high rating.  I enjoyed their comparisons and cultural references and the layout is unique and easy to follow.  I'll admit that I almost didn't read the whole review...but seeing as I am writing a review on the review, I decided to finish reading...  Anyways, Weezer is a good band and The Blue Album is a great album.

Can a review review a review? In a canoe?

I write reviews of reviews of things that I may or may not be interested in.  Hopefully this blog proves to be interesting.
